Playaakun luxury villa in collaboration with Jardín Urbano Tulum is happy to present a new project born this year using quarantine time in the best way possible.
The main idea of this project was to bring more to a healthy lifestyle that Playaakun is representing with the organic home grown vegetables and fruits as well as eggs from home grown chickens by the family of one of the villa owners and creators of @JardinUrbanoTulum.
The idea is to plant, care and harvest organically using permaculture principles adapted to an urban reality. We work together with nature observing his teachings and adapting in the garden. Two animals play a key role in this project – chickens and Melipona Bees. We create a chicken run food garden where chickens feed our garden and our garden feeds our chickens. While bees as you know, are very important for the garden, maintaining biodiversity and conserving the nature transporting pollen from one flower to another resulting in the formation of fruits.
As living in the Tulum town house is not much garden space- the trick was to create raised beds with biodiversity system and mix different plants obtaining the best result of quality of the vegetables, fruits, herbs.
Except of more than 50 different species of fruits, vegetable and herbs even for the curative teas, we also provide malípona bee honey and eggs!
Of course chickens eating organic food lay organic eggs and in the future can be a great dish for your lunch or dinner in the villa served with lots of love.
We cannot wait for you to come and give it a taste to hear your feedback! Our Chef will offer a variety of international, national and local dishes presented in a very heartfelt way.
To complete our menu we collaborate with the local fisherman to provide the fresh fish and neighboring farmers for the organic meat.
